A Collaborative Approach

 

When Kevin approached us to refresh his coastal apartment, our schedule was already full. Rather than delay the project, we partnered with trusted local designer Nicole Falla, combining her refined aesthetic with our supplier network, carpentry team and on-site support.

The brief was simple and thoughtful: create a serene, understated home in a timeless neutral palette, with a subtle high-end Italian feel. The open-plan space and soft sea views naturally guided the design towards calm, contemporary simplicity.

Shaping the Space

No major structural changes were needed; instead, the focus was on modernisation and cohesion. The client, Kevin requested fitted shelving and wardrobes for practicality and presence, while Nicole curated a beautifully restrained mix of textures and furniture. A subtle hallmark of the project is the MDF panelling in the living and dining area, with textured wallpaper inset within the panels, adding depth and warmth while maintaining the apartment’s soft, neutral tone.

Quiet Details with Lasting Impact

Through this collaborative approach, the home became more modern, comfortable and cohesive: a quiet coastal sanctuary with contemporary simplicity and thoughtful, understated touches.

Ben is Bonsai’s project manager, who was in charge of the various trades, has a surgeons eye for detail, and, once again, nothing was too much trouble and no job too small.
