This is without doubt one of our favourite projects. Tina & Martyn Guille were looking to create a statement piece in their new St Martins home and we welcomed the chance to show off what we could do for them. After a few consultations with our team in the bespoke showroom Tina and Martyn selected a great palette of materials to work with, gave us a list of requirements and left the design largely up to us. A great challenge and a dream brief to get our creative teeth stuck into!

The finished room is dramatic, stylish and full of rich tones on every surface. As per the brief it is also (hopefully) very different from any other home studies one might be likely to encounter. Dark, American walnut is everywhere with each section subtly curved using our Boleform system. One of the most noticeable features is the recessed, LED-lit ceiling constructed using another of our many timber panel options – this time reclaimed oak wine barrels. A striking feature and a fitting one given the presence of the built-in wine refrigerator…

Another stand out is the large pair of walnut doors that look rather like a feature wall. The door fronts again feature the attractive curves and have been designed as a concertina system enabling them be folded right back into hidden ‘pockets’ in the wall. This reveals a carefully designed hidden office replete with adjustable shelves, draws and other versatile storage.
