Catherine Best is the Channel Islands’ most prominent and creative jeweller. Catherine and her partner Paul operate their business from a fantastic and highly unusual old Mill situated in the parish of St Martins. They live above the ground floor business and contacted Bonsai to provide a timber floor and a set of sliding/folding aluminium doors – all curved – for the first floor living area.
Given the unusual shape of the building, the wide-plank European oak floor was fitted in a circumferential format and hand-scribed to the rough granite walls before being hand-finished in a pigmented natural hard-wax oil.
The whole project was conceived and realised by eminent Guernsey architects CCD who have been responsible for other many incredible restorations and developments.
