The Story
We were appointed as lead interior designers for Foxglove, working closely with DLM Architects and Breton Contractors to shape a new interior scheme from the ground up. The clients wanted a calm, functional home with warmth and personality.

The Challenge
The space needed clear direction to ensure the architecture, interiors and lighting worked cohesively. Layout flow, material choices and lighting design all had to support everyday living while avoiding a scheme that felt flat or overly neutral.

Our Solution
We refined the layouts, established a soft, neutral palette with confident accents, and introduced bespoke elements including a custom dining table and tailored joinery. A full Occhio lighting scheme was designed and integrated into the home’s smart system, enhancing usability and atmosphere throughout. The result is a balanced, welcoming home with clarity, cohesion and character.

A Soft Palette with Confident Accents

Appointed as lead interior designers, we worked closely alongside the client’s architects, DLM, and contractors, Breton, on the transformation of Foxglove. The project centred on creating a new interior scheme from the ground up, shaping each space to improve function, comfort and everyday use. The brief was clear: to create a calm, functional home with warmth and personality. Neutral living areas were balanced with considered moments of colour and character, while our role focused on refining the layout, enhancing flow and introducing subtle design details that elevate daily living.

Project Direction

From the outset, a strong and open line of communication was established between ourselves, DLM, and Breton, ensuring the design, architecture, and build progressed in close alignment. This collaborative approach allowed the design team, architects, and builders to work cohesively from the beginning, supported by detailed plans for the living and dining areas and the garden room. Early stages explored layout options, colour direction, and initial material and furniture considerations, establishing a clear and confident overall approach.

Alongside regular collaborative team meetings, Martha met separately with the clients at key stages to agree on important design decisions. This created space for detailed discussion and confident sign-off throughout the process. This clear circle of communication proved to be a defining factor in the project’s success.

Design & Specification

Following the concept work, we refined layouts, set colour schemes and developed proposals across the key rooms of the home. We also supplied the flooring and produced a bespoke dining table through our skilled carpentry team.

Key points included:

  • Kitchen material and detailing suggestions

  • Updated layouts in main living areas

  • Integration of existing furniture with new selections

  • Joinery ideas, including an under-stair wine rack

  • Window treatments, accessories and feature wall concepts

  • Considered use of colour in spaces such as the garden room and upstairs snug

Full Lighting Design

We delivered a comprehensive lighting design for the entire home, developing a detailed Occhio lighting scheme across all principal rooms and circulation areas. The design enhances everyday usability while supporting the character and function of each space.

The lighting system was fully integrated into the home’s smart control system, allowing intuitive operation via wall interfaces and app-based control. This included:

  • Lighting concepts tailored to each space

  • Full technical lighting plans

  • Smart system integration, incorporating Occhio Air within the wider home automation system

Process & Outcome

The design process focused on developing a considered interior and lighting scheme that would evolve naturally alongside the project. As the design progressed, specialist elements were explored where appropriate to ensure each detail supported the overall vision.

The resulting scheme delivers calm, neutral living spaces, complemented by carefully placed colour in areas where it adds character and personality, such as the garden room and snug. The specified flooring and Occhio lighting system reinforce the design intent, bringing cohesion, functionality, and a refined finish throughout. The clients are delighted with both the direction and the final outcome.
