The Story
The Hollow began as a newly purchased home with a calm, neutral backdrop. While the foundation was in place, the clients wanted to introduce character and a strong focal point within the living room.

The Challenge
The space needed a feature that could house a television and an expanding book collection without overwhelming the modest room or disrupting the existing palette. It also had to feel integrated, flexible and future-proof.

Our Solution
We proposed a magnetic wall system by Ronda Design, offering a clean, contemporary way to combine storage and display. After exploring several modular options, the Magnetika system was selected for its flexibility and refined finish. The chosen configuration in Stippled Mud now anchors the living space, providing practical storage while adding depth and personality to the previously blank wall.

Function Meets Feature

Our clients approached us wanting to bring character to their newly purchased, neutral-toned home. With polished plaster walls, taupe curtains and a modest living room, the property offered a calm foundation that needed thoughtful detail to feel personal.

The clients main focus for their home was clear: creating a feature in the living room that could organise their TV and growing book collection while fitting comfortably within the existing palette. Alongside this, we also supported the wider scheme with smaller additions first, including a custom dresser for the main bedroom and guidance on textiles and lighting to help unify key spaces.

A magnetic wall was a great solution, delivering durability and a refined, integrated aesthetic that redefined the previously blank wall.

Exploring the Options

We presented the clients with wall-system options from Tomasella, Poliform, Lema, and Ronda Design, along with renderings for the Tomasella and Ronda concepts to show how each would sit within the room. After comparing the modular options, Ronda Design’s Magnetika system was chosen for its flexibility and contemporary look.

Following detailed site measurements, we collaborated with Ronda Design to refine the layout, fixing points and finishes. We then reviewed two Magnetika shelving systems — Polis and Iron-IC — in several colours before the clients selected Polis in Stippled Mud, which also guided their curtain fabric choice.

Why Ronda Design’s Magnetika Wall Works So Well

The Magnetika wall system by Ronda is a flexible magnetic wall solution that allows shelves and accessories to lock on securely and be repositioned at any time. It offers simple reconfiguration, minimal wall impact and a clean, bracket-free aesthetic, making it ideal for contemporary interiors and multifunctional spaces.

The range includes modular elements and accessories in metal, wood, textured panels and optional lighting, allowing the system to sit quietly within a scheme or act as a design feature. Once the magnetic panel is installed, components can be added, moved or expanded without dismantling the structure, adapting easily to changing needs.

Why It Was the Right Fit for This Project

For this project, the Ronda Magnetika wall provided the perfect balance of practicality, flexibility and design, supporting a growing book collection while enhancing the calm, modern character of the room.
