FLARE: Minimalistic Crystal Beauty

By 29th February 2024March 1st, 2024No Comments

Thanks to the variability of its shape, Flare is perfect for vertical installations, such as stairwells, and horizontal compositions in rooms with low ceilings. The individual components may be combined into smaller minimalist lights or impressive, expansive fixtures in more spacious interiors. Flare can be just a line, a detail, or a monumental installation.

BOMMA’s newly released Flare collection has caught our eye with its mesmerising spiral structure, illuminated by a central beam within each crystal rod. Paying homage to traditional glassmaking techniques as you can see above, this new collection enables designers to craft unique lighting installations for various spaces. Featuring crystal glass rods in three shapes, including straight and bent variations, the Flare collection offers endless possibilities for customised arrangements.

Despite its minimalist appearance, the Flare lights boast sophisticated mountings with advanced COB light sources. Each crystal rod is handcrafted, resulting in a one-of-a-kind piece with a distinct swirl of light spiralling through its interior. This captivating effect is achieved through a traditional glassmaking process, where molten glass is covered with small glass shards, then immersed in molten crystal before being pulled to the desired length.

The result is a magical texture within the rod, akin to its own cosmos, casting a radiant glow with every flick of the switch. Absolutely stunning!
