This property was renovated with a distinctly contemporary edge and a concerted effort to steer clear of traditional appearances. Timber still features heavily in the staircase, doors and hallway panelling which we manufactured and custom-finished in house and these contrast nicely with the prominent concrete floor tiles in the hall and living area. With the colour pallet throughout the shell constituting a mix of grey, we picked occasional accents in white and some other lighter shades to lift the scheme in places.
The staircase is quite special for many reasons though particularly because it features a ‘cascading’ continual grain pattern running down the treads from top to bottom, all made from the same section of timber. Elsewhere we used custom stainless steel and leather ironmongery from British hardware specialists Turnstyle Designs & Philip Watts.
